Informazioni
Padel Mater Dei is the pioneering padel venue in Lagonegro, Basilicata, opened on Via Calabria and inaugurated in May 2022 as the first dedicated padel court in the local territory. The facility was named in honour of Nino Postiglione, a pioneer of free local radio, and launched with a high-profile ceremony attended by Inter legends Javier Zanetti and Esteban Cambiasso alongside regional and municipal leaders. Managed by Luigi Piro, who brought the idea home after playing padel in Rome, the court gives Lagonegro players a local place to train and compete without travelling far afield. It sits at Via Calabria 5 and forms part of the Mater Dei community setting that has become a reference point for racket sport in this part of Potenza province.
Servizi
Padel Mater Dei centres on a dedicated padel court built to bring the sport to Lagonegro for the first time. Contemporary reporting describes a single campo inaugurated as the territory's first padel installation, giving residents a proper glass-walled court for doubles play. Beyond the court itself, public sources do not list changing rooms, a pro shop, café, or other clubhouse amenities in detail, so players should confirm on-site what support facilities are available when booking. The venue shares contact details with the Check local marketplace app, which also promotes sports field booking alongside food and delivery services for the Lagonegro area.
Abbonamento e prenotazione
Court time at Padel Mater Dei is organised through the Check app and website (checklp.it), a local marketplace that lets users find and book sports fields and events in one place. Download Check from the App Store or Google Play, create a profile, then look for sporting pitches and events near Lagonegro to reserve a slot. There is no separate Playtomic or Mate club page publicly listed for this venue. For questions about access, membership cards, or one-off hire, contact the operators on the published phone number or at info@checklp.it. Drop-in availability and any season tickets are best confirmed directly with the manager when you book.

The May 2022 opening was tied to a charity lunch with Zanetti and Cambiasso organised by the Lagonegro pro loco in support of the local Caritas, underlining the venue's community role from day one. The court is dedicated to Nino Postiglione and carries that commemorative naming. Check (checklp.it) collaborated on the launch and remains the digital front door for discovering and booking sports activity linked to the operators. The venue is not listed on Playtomic. Italian is the working language of the site and local press coverage.
