About
area114 by Postsportverein Salzburg is Salzburg’s largest padel venue, with eight outdoor courts run in partnership with Padelbase at Vogelweiderstraße 114. Courts are bookable daily from 07:00 to 22:00 via padelbase.at (eTennis), with hourly rates from about €16 depending on season and time slot. Racket hire can be added online and collected from a locker between courts 3 and 4; balls are sold from an on-site vending machine. The 19,000 m² sports site also offers tennis, outdoor pickleball, a gym, sauna, the ZWEII bistro and beach bar, and a racket sports shop. Padelbase academy coaches including former World Padel Tour player Guillem Pujol provide training, and the club hosts events and tournaments. For outdoor padel in Austria’s alpine city in 2026, area114 is the main multi-court destination.

The padel facility itself is nice, but the hospitality of the bar owners leaves much to be desired. Aside from the fact that the advertised Champions League stream didn't work after a padel tournament, we were ultimately kicked out. The reason: The owners refused to serve us any more beer, even though they were still loudly celebrating and drinking while the game was still in progress. So we got our own beer, which initially didn't seem to bother anyone. Shortly afterward, however, the obviously heavily intoxicated owner approached us. He asked us to leave the premises in an extremely unfriendly, unprofessional, and insulting manner. While it's perfectly within the owner's rights to exercise their right to refuse service, the way he did it was completely unacceptable.
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. Especially at a padel tournament that was actively advertised, one would have expected a much more professional and welcoming approach to the participants. Instead, service and communication were unfortunately inadequate, and the tone was sometimes inappropriate. Overall, not the kind of treatment one would expect as a guest at such an event.
Not a pickle ball court
