Membership & Pricing

The municipal tennis and padel courts at Clos d'en Cante in Espira-de-l'Agly are a public sports facility built by the town on communal land. Opened in 2019, the site combines two tennis courts with a padel court and parking, set apart from the village centre in a quiet countryside setting. Anyone can use the courts after registering with the municipality; access is not limited to club members. The venue sits within a broader leisure area that also includes play spaces and outdoor activity zones managed by the town.

Facilities

Court hire is organised by the municipality with tiered rates published on the town website. Espira Tennis Club members play padel free of charge. Local residents pay 5 euros per person for a 1h30 padel session; non-residents pay 8 euros for the same slot. An optional lighting supplement of 2 euros per 1h30 applies when floodlights are used. Tennis follows a similar structure (free for club members, 2 euros per hour for residents, 8 euros for non-residents, plus lighting). Online or on-page forms are provided on the Tennis / Padel page for tennis and padel bookings. The Espira Tennis Club also runs a tennis school for children aged 5 to 16, led by a state-qualified coach with volunteer support, with Wednesday afternoon sessions; the club is chaired by Hervé Cros and is active on Instagram as @tennis.espiradelagly.

It's always good to visit "small clubs" that welcome you and make you feel at home. The setting is pleasant and secluded from the village, creating a real countryside setting for playing tennis! 🎾
