Società Canottieri Casale is one of Italy's most decorated multi-sport clubs — Serie A1 rowing champions and FITP Best Club 2024 — set on the Po riverfront at Viale Lungo Po Gramsci 14 in Casale Monferrato. Padel arrived in July 2022 as part of the Canottieri 2.0 expansion, adding a single court beside seven tennis courts (five clay, two GreenSet) and the club's wider rowing, swimming and social programme. The padel section runs competitive TPRA provincial teams and regular women's tournaments. Play is members-only with a valid FITP card, matching the club's private-society model rather than public pay-and-play.
Facilities
Padel is reserved for club members holding a current FITP licence and valid sports medical certificate — guests invited to play must meet the same requirements. Booking is mandatory via the Canottieri Casale app; the padel schedule opens every Friday at 6:30pm for the following week. Cost is 3 euros per player per slot, rising to 5 euros with court lighting. Each member can book up to two hours for the upcoming week when the board opens; additional hours become available from Monday for the current week. Cancellations by the booking member up to 24 hours before play receive a credit refund.

This is a review of the restaurant, where I've had lunch several times, hosted by some of its members. The dining room is simple and unfussy, but well-organized, clean, and with well-spaced tables. The menu varies seasonally, and the portions are more than adequate. The house wine is very pleasant. The children's menu is budget-friendly, with a cutlet for €8-9 a plate: I haven't seen prices like these in a long time! The outdoor park is also very nice, where children can run around freely. Highly recommended.
