Membership & Pricing

Club Fuente del Rey is a private non-profit sports association founded on 1 December 1978 at Fuente del Rey near Alcalá la Real, Jaén province. The site on Calle Fuente Somera 2 grew from shooting ranges into pools, tennis, a polideportivo hall, frontón, barbecues, a Cola-Cao footing track, and padel courts added last in the masterplan timeline on clubfuentedelrey.com. Tennis still drives the competition calendar, including Jaén Tenis Tour events, while padel sits as two outdoor courts within a wider family club. Members get pools with lifeguards, camping, football and basketball on the multi-sport court, and summer fiestas around the Virgen de la Coronada weekend. Recent Google feedback praises the sports mix but slams restaurant waits under the reopened El quinto de Cabildo caterer. Solar self-consumption panels were funded with EU NextGeneration support.

Facilities

Membership runs through the private association: apply via the Área de socios on clubfuentedelrey.com for bookings and club documents. Email clubfuentedelrey@hotmail.com or call 953 597 254. Winter access has historically been more open to visitors according to older reviews, but padel and courts follow internal bylaws, so confirm guest rules before travelling. Restaurant bookings and November activity programmes are posted on the club news feed. Non-profit fees are not published publicly.

We booked for 2:30, but were served half an hour later, while they were attending to customers who arrived after us. We even had to signal to them. After ordering from the menu, they took twice to distribute our order to other tables. We pointed this out, and they apologized, saying they didn't know if the "secret" dish was left. Several minutes later, they brought the "secret" dish, which didn't taste like a secret at all. We ordered the child's meal with the menu; it arrived an hour late, and he was the last to eat. Furthermore, the service was terrible; they seemed completely lost and didn't even know the table numbers.

The club is fine, but the restaurant is terrible. They take a long time to serve you, they serve you so much of the same thing, and that's if you're lucky and don't finish what you ordered at the beginning and have to start all over again. A disaster. It's a shame to have to go out to eat.

A large sports club with a variety of activities, including tennis. It also features two padel courts, a large swimming pool, a multi-sports court, a camping area, two shooting ranges, and winter and summer social lounges. For members and their guests only.

Terrible experience. We had a two-hour wait for lunch on Three Kings' Day. All the tables had reservations, and we had to change our menu selection three times because there was nothing available. Terrible restaurant service.

It's private, but anyone can enter in winter. It has an adult pool and a children's pool with a lifeguard. Tennis, paddle tennis, soccer, and basketball courts. A camping area and restaurant are available. A playground with swings.
