The University of Jaén runs four padel courts on the Campus de las Lagunillas, next to the main sports pavilion. They are standard 20 by 10 metre courts with 15 mm artificial turf, used only for padel. The complex belongs to the Servicio de Deportes and sits inside the wider university sports zone, so you book through the same channels as the gym and other outdoor facilities. Play is aimed at students, staff, alumni, and approved external users rather than a commercial club atmosphere. The UJA Trofeo de Pádel and other university competitions are staged here alongside Linares, which gives the courts a steady competitive calendar through the year.
Facilities
Access is profile-based rather than a traditional club membership. University students and staff use the student rate on CronosWeb after logging in with UJA credentials. Non-university players and graduates can register for a web login through the sports service. Spouses of PAS or PDI staff fall under the non-university booking path. Reservations cover today plus the next four days, with the furthest day opening at 09:00. You have ten minutes to complete an online booking before the slot is released. Groups running competitions or commercial sessions need prior authorisation from Servicio de Deportes before the higher tariff applies.

The padel courts are well-maintained. Great for practicing with your group. Plus, with two university IDs, it's super cheap to play (6 euros for an hour and a half). The only downside is that the location on Google Maps doesn't show the entrance very well, and if it's your first time, you might get a little lost.
The courts are in poor condition for several reasons: sunken metal mesh, torn nets, excessive glare on the glass, poor maintenance with dirt on the courts, uneven sand distribution, irregular ball bounces on different courts due to the surface, and balls that are impossible to retrieve because they get stuck in gaps caused by the metal structure covering the courts, as seen on court 4. When it rains, the courts get soaked despite being covered. The only good thing is the price, which is two euros per person if you have a sports card, and the restrooms available at the courts.
Cheap and well-maintained. It's a bit tricky to retrieve the balls when they go out of bounds, but otherwise very good.
Good apartment. Easy booking. Somewhat deteriorated already.
