Membership & Pricing
This Google listing for Polideportivo Municipal in Mazarrón points to the town-run C.P. Gines García padel and futsal centre on Calle Antonio Machado, not the larger Jesús Cánovas complex on Calle La Vía. Three municipal padel courts serve local players and holiday residents on the Costa Cálida, alongside indoor futsal pitches in the same sports block. The Ayuntamiento de Mazarrón runs bookings through the La Aceña sports hall vending system or the sports office on +34 968 59 18 52 (morning enquiries 09:00–14:00, Monday–Saturday). Evening sessions dominate because weekday court hours run 16:30–22:30, with Saturday morning and afternoon blocks. Reviews of the wider municipal zone mention usable padel and tennis infrastructure even when the athletics track or basketball zones look tired. Pricing is municipal rather than private-club rates.
Facilities
Public municipal hire: reserve padel slots via the La Aceña pavilion booking machine or call the Concejalía de Deportes on 968 59 18 52 (also listed as 968 590 513 for afternoon sports complex bookings). Weekday padel access is typically 16:30–22:30; Saturdays 09:00–14:00 and 16:00–21:00. Sunday closed per current Google hours. Pay-per-court municipal tariffs apply rather than membership at a private club. Information and pricing sheets are on mazarron.es under Instalaciones deportivas.

Very good
I've spent a thousand and one afternoons here playing basketball and soccer. The truth is, one basket is lower than the other, the basketball court floor is slippery, the goals don't have nets, and the nets behind them to keep the ball out don't stop it from going out. At least it has good facilities for padel, tennis, and athletics. And as a final improvement, the calisthenics area should have parallel bars for dips and a pull-up bar for freestyle, so calisthenics athletes wouldn't have to go to the port to find bars for doing tricks.
The running track is desperately in need of maintenance or replacement. It's awful, full of holes that athletes are lucky to avoid stepping in and falling through. And the less said about the municipal swimming pool on the premises, the better...
It's a shame the athletics track isn't an official one, but it's in pretty good condition. It's best to go in the morning or early afternoon, as other users use the athletics track as a transit area or for other purposes.
Excellent sports complex, clean and well maintained. Friendly and welcoming caretaker.
