Membership & Pricing
Club Padelaire on Barkby Road, Leicester (LE4 9LX) is a new LTA-accredited multi-racket venue built around premium glass-walled padel, with pickleball and glass-caged table tennis still rolling out. The club markets itself as a luxury indoor destination with specialist shock-absorbing court floors, cafe and pro shop. Booking runs only through the SportGrid app. At research time it was open primarily to Core members with public booking expected to follow. Court quality draws praise; recent reviews also flag pricing around £45/hour, add-on racket/ball hire, and mixed first-visit service — worth reading current feedback before you commit.
Facilities
Core membership is £100/year or £10/month (cancel anytime) and extends booking to 14 days ahead versus a shorter public window, with launch discounts of about 20% on your share of court hire (reverting to 10% later) plus small cafe and pro-shop discounts. Founders (£500/year, first 100) was delayed at research time with a planned longer booking window and extras. SportGrid is required to join and book; some site copy says membership is needed to see slots while other text suggests public 7-day booking — check the app for the live rule. My wife and I visited Padelaire for the first time recently and really enjoyed playing. The facilities are excellent and it's great to see padel growing in Leicester. Unfortunately, the customer experience on the day was disappointing. We booked after seeing a Father's Day promotion on Instagram which stated that court bookings would include complimentary racket hire for two and refreshments. The advert did not specify that the offer only applied to fathers playing with their children, which later became a point of disagreement. On arrival I was initially told a refund would be arranged for the racket hire, but after playing I was given conflicting information by another member of staff. I also wasn't offered the refreshments that were advertised. As first-time players, we were unaware that we needed to bring our own balls. When we arrived there were none available on court, and although staff eventually provided some balls, this information would have been helpful during the booking process. What disappointed me most was the way the issue was handled at the time. I felt my concerns were dismissed rather than listened to, which left a poor first impression. To their credit, after I contacted management they responded professionally, acknowledged that the promotion had not been communicated clearly, apologised, and arranged a refund. The courts and facilities are fantastic and we genuinely enjoyed playing. I hope the customer service and communication improve because the venue has a lot of potential.
Simple and nice experience.
1. Overpriced compared to other padel courts in the area. 2. Confusing app and membership structure which gives you only 10% off an expensive cafe, and an extended booking window (although other padel centres don't use this tactic). 3. Charge £7 for 3 balls which may get stuck as the courts are crammed right up against the walls. When mine did, we spent 10 mins of our booking looking for staff who in the end weren't able to retrieve them. Other padel centres provide balls which you return at the end, or they likely retrieve when they clean the place out anwyay. 4. Cheap, carpet like flooring for the courts. No bounce and momentum. 5. Marketing videos claim nearest padel centres are an hour away - but I've been to at least 5 around Leicestershire that are close by. Expected 'premium' as they claim it to be, but it seems to be a facade. Overpriced when booking a court, charging for things that they really shouldn't and which are not transparent on the app/website, and really disappointed at the service by both the facility and the staff who seemed to have no clue how to respond to my concerns when all of these issues were raised.
Too expensive for what it is, courts for £45/hour. Better to drive next door to Birmingham and access the same facilities and food for cheaper. The acai is nothing special and will cost you from £9-13 for a cups worth. Padel rackets and balls not available with bookings so you have to rent them at an additional cost if you are a casual player.
Place is an absolute shambles. Steer clear
