Rawdon Golf, Lawn Tennis & Padel Club sits on Buckstone Drive in Rawdon (LS19 6BB), about six miles north-west of Leeds and Bradford. Established in 1896 as a golf club, it now combines a testing 9-hole parkland course with tennis and padel. Rawdon was the first club in the Leeds–Bradford area to install padel (spring 2021), adding a second floodlit court in May 2022. Both courts use a premium carpet surface and Clubspark automation for booking and lights. The padel boom helped membership roughly quadruple and funded further club development; in 2023 Rawdon won Yorkshire Club of the Year (and Regional Club of the Year) at the LTA awards and was shortlisted nationally. Expect a traditional members’ sports club vibe: lounge bar, patio dining, golf and tennis alongside padel matchplay, club nights, mini leagues, cardio sessions and junior/adult coaching — not a warehouse pay-and-play shed.
Facilities
Visitors can book padel up to 4 days ahead via Clubspark (Booker app or web). Due to demand, new padel-only and rackets (tennis+padel) memberships are currently full/unavailable. Tennis-only memberships remain open (Adult £200, Family £429, Student £95, juniors from £42, Country £125) — tennis members pay non-member rates on padel. Excellent, friendly golf club, best atmosphere & welcome I've had in a golf club in years. So good, I joined. The course is a testing 9 hole challenge with numerous uphill & downhill holes. It's not too long but tests every aspect of your game. Highly recommend
I was just walking by the golf club and noticed they sell refreshments. After enquiring I was informed you do not need to be a member to use the bar and restaurant facilities. The homemade cheese burger and Cumberland sandwich we ordered were delicious, this place is a hidden gem. I was told they have a new chef here, her name is Michelle. 5 stars, and thank you for our lovely food.
