Under the outstanding leadership of Peter Wood, the tennis department has gone from strength to strength, not just in growing tennis, but with the exciting introduction of padel, which has brought a whole new energy and wave of enthusiasm. What truly sets this club apart is the sense of community. There’s a real feeling of belonging here, it’s welcoming, friendly, and supportive. It feels more like a country club nestled in stunning natural surroundings just 20 minutes from Glasgow! The facilities are exceptional: four newly upgraded outdoor clay courts, five indoor carpet courts, and an atmosphere that makes you want to be on court every day. The coaching team is brilliant approachable, passionate, and genuinely invested in helping everyone improve, no matter their level.
I was previosuly a member at David Lloyd clubs and joined Nuffield back in November and have loved the venue! The tennis and padel coaching is great and all classes are included in membership free of any additional charge, which for the high standard of coaching I couldn’t believe. The swimming and gym facilities are also of a very good quality. I Would definitely recommend the venue to anyone who is looking for a club as it has so much to offer.
If you love racquet sports then the facilities are spot on. I started joining in with fitness/cardio tennis and now play in teams/tournaments. The coaching team are all very encouraging and there’s a good choice of indoors, outdoor clay and now padel. Food (and coffee) is good standard and staff are always friendly.
I've been a member of the club for many years, primarily for the tennis. The indoor courts are excellent for our unpredictable Scottish weather. Things went downhill after COVID lockdown and I worried that it would not recover....fast forward to the arrival of Garry as manager and Peter as racquets manager. What a change...the club is buzzing. Lots of new members. Our new outdoor courts are amazing to play on. Just waiting for the lights and we will be able to play outdoors as the dark nights descend in the autumn. The cafe is great...make lovely tennis match teas. They work really hard and come up with lovely healthy lunch options.
Went to the gym last week, free weight selection was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of machines as well. Golf course is immaculate as well with each hole being maintained and kept to an impeccably high standard. I also made my way to the lounge section and indulged in a lovely creamy coffee. Reception team were also very joyous and made me feel welcomed and included within Nuffield. Will be returning again!
