Membership & Pricing
Cavan Lawn Tennis Club sits on Farnham Street in the heart of Cavan Town, and it has been part of local sporting life since 1888. Alongside its tennis programme, the club runs two dedicated padel courts that have become a regular draw for members looking for a social, doubles-based racket game close to the town centre. Padel here is set up for four players at a time, which suits mixed sessions and newcomers as much as regulars. The club leans into that social side: there is a Padel WhatsApp group for organising games, plus structured play through a Padel Grand Prix, mixed club nights, and padel box leagues. Open tournament play also features on the calendar when the club runs competitive weeks. It is a membership club rather than a pay-and-play venue, so court access sits behind a yearly membership and an online booking system with fob entry. Floodlighting (Class 1 LED) covers the courts, so evening sessions are part of normal club life. For anyone in County Cavan looking for padel courts without travelling to a larger city club, Cavan LTC is one of the clearest local options.
Facilities
Court use at Cavan Lawn Tennis Club is for members. Membership for 2026 is open at the same rates as 2025 and runs through to 31 May 2027. Current categories include Senior (€200), Junior (€50), Student (€140), Family (€380), Retired/Unwaged (€120), and Country (€110). Apply via the club website membership page. Once your membership is confirmed, register on the court booking system (padel and tennis have separate booking pages) and wait for admin approval before you can reserve courts. Members are added to the main Cavan Tennis & Padel WhatsApp group, with optional groups such as Padel for organising games and club nights. Organised padel options include the Padel Grand Prix, mixed club nights, and padel box leagues, so joining is as much about finding regular partners as it is about booking a court.

Been using this tennis club for few months now and pretty happy with it overall. Located right on Farnham Street in town center so easy to get to. The club has quite interesting history actually, been around since 1885 which is pretty impressive. They officially got permanent home in Cavan Town back in 1888. Used to run championships and tournaments way back in the day. Facilities are decent. They have five tennis courts total - three artificial grass and two hard rubber surface ones. All courts have floodlights which is handy for evening sessions. They also added two padel courts recently which is something new for the area. The club is pretty welcoming, not too stuck up or anything. Good mix of people, from beginners to more experienced players. They run junior coaching programs and adult sessions throughout the year. Staff is helpful and facilities are well maintained. Location in the heart of Cavan Town is really convenient. You can combine it with other errands in town center, and parking is available nearby. The courts are behind the main club grounds so it's relatively quiet despite being central. Membership prices are reasonable for what you get. They have different options depending on whether you want tennis only or tennis plus padel access. Overall good value for money. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for tennis in Cavan area. Solid facilities, good atmosphere, and convenient location.
