Tennis Club of Montemor-o-Novo

The Clube de Ténis de Montemor-o-Novo (CTMN) is the main racket venue in Montemor-o-Novo, Alentejo — a long-established tennis club that expanded heavily into padel as the sport took off locally. Since January 2023 it runs three outdoor padel courts: one refurbished original lane plus two new builds funded partly by the municipality and CCDR Alentejo. The newer surfaces use a specific artificial grass with less sand and a faster playing pace, and floodlighting supports evening sessions and daily night tournaments. Padel sits alongside three outdoor tennis courts, one covered tennis court and two mini-tennis courts within a landscaped complex. The club is deliberately open to non-members — court hire, the padel school and the CTMN Padel Tour competition circuit are all pitched at the wider public, not just card-holding socios. An elevated bar and terrace overlooks the courts, with sports TV and food geared toward players. Reviews consistently praise court quality, staff and the social atmosphere; parking can be tight when the club hosts group events.
