Complejo Deportivo La Toba "Hermanos Castro" is a municipal sports complex in the Llaranes neighbourhood of Avilés, Asturias. Built on the site of the old La Toba football pitches, it sits in a wider sports corridor with Campo de Fútbol Muro de Zaro, the Casa del Deporte, and outdoor courts nearby, serving the south of the municipality. Alongside its football focus, the complex offers two outdoor padel courts and two tennis courts, both managed by Club Tenis ENSIDESA. The site is adapted for visitors with motor disabilities and remains a well-used local hub for racket sports as well as team games.

Facilities

Padel and tennis at Complejo Deportivo La Toba are run by Club Tenis ENSIDESA (Grupo de Tenis ENSIDESA-Avilés), not booked through a generic municipal system alone. Court reservations are handled online via ReservaDeportes (reservadeportes.com under Tenis Ensidesa): create an account, confirm your email, then log in. Club members must have their member details validated by the club before online booking opens; once accepted, they receive a confirmation email and can reserve. Non-members should check availability and access rules with the club or the complex switchboard. The club is based in Llaranes and is registered with the Spanish tennis federation (RFET).

Nice place to walkabout

A classic among Asturian sports facilities, especially for football players, as it's inevitable that you'll face many teams from the Avilés area who don't play there. Despite the pressure the facilities are under, their overall quality has held up remarkably well over time. Previously, pitch number 1 was a coal-fired pitch where the youth teams of Avilés Industrial played.

Renovated tennis court entrances with lighting and electronic time-card entry. Maintained courts. Includes two cement courts and one grass court, as well as two padel courts.

I walk my dogs every day in this area; there's a lot of green space, ideal for doing sports on your own, like running and playing padel or tennis.
