Ciudad Deportiva de Don Benito is the main municipal sports complex in Don Benito (Badajoz, Extremadura), run by the Delegación Municipal de Deportes (DMD) of the town council. The venue brings together many outdoor and indoor sports spaces on one campus, and padel is one of the court sports available to the public alongside tennis, beach volleyball and outdoor futsal, plus the Pabellón Municipal Julio Francisco Gómez. Padel here is municipal rather than a private club offering: courts are hired through the official DMD platform at dmd.donbenito.es, which also covers activity enrolment, pool tickets and a directory of local sports associations. The complex regularly hosts regional youth padel events (including Judex circuit matches organised with clubs such as ATAVAS), so the courts are used both for casual hire and competition. The town plenary has approved renaming the complex Ciudad Deportiva Pedro Porro; the sports management site and Google listing still present it under the established Ciudad Deportiva de Don Benito name.
Facilities
There is no private padel membership scheme published for this venue. Access is municipal: you register as a user on dmd.donbenito.es to hire courts, enrol in seasonal sports courses and buy swimming pool tickets or bonos. The Ayuntamiento has confirmed that court hire on the platform covers the Ciudad Deportiva padel courts together with tennis, beach volleyball, outdoor futsal and pavilion spaces. Municipal winter and other activity campaigns are also enrolled through the same site, typically requiring a registered account and online card payment. For questions about the platform or bookings, the sports department directs people to the Ciudad Deportiva office and publishes the contact email deldeportes@donbenito.es. Ticket and reservation terms for events are published separately on the town hall website under entradas y reservas. Good evening, this Saturday we were there for a Cadet Judo Super Cup. I'm writing this because I don't know who to address, but I want to thank the organization of this competition. More specifically: the bathrooms were constantly being cleaned, it was wonderful, and the cleaning staff was super nice; one of the competitors from my club is celiac, and for the first time, there were gluten-free sandwiches; there was an open bar with fruit and water (and in the cafeteria, there was plenty of cold, bottled water); prizes for the seven boys and girls in each category (with a box of pâtés!!)... after all the sacrifices the boys and their families make, being welcomed like this is wonderful. Thank you so much, and please forward my message to the competition organizers.
Good facilities in the town of Don Benito, although there are limited spectator seats on many of the courts. Another problem is the heat. They call it the "toaster" because you literally burn to a crisp during high temperatures. I think it needs some work in that regard.
It's very spacious and suitable for many sports; the downside is the artificial turf fields, which need replacing.
