Membership & Pricing

Polideportivo Municipal De Gibraleón, officially known as Polideportivo Municipal José Antonio Garrido since 2019, is the main outdoor sports complex in Gibraleón (Huelva). Run by the Ayuntamiento through the Patronato Municipal de Deportes, it is where local players go for padel alongside football, tennis, basketball and swimming. The municipal diagnostic published on gibraleon.com lists three padel courts on site: two standard wall courts and one glass court, each measuring 10 by 20 metres. The complex sits on Avenida Reina Sofía and shares the town sports network with the separate Pabellón Municipal nearby. Padel is part of everyday municipal sport here, not a private club add-on, with court use and youth programmes coordinated from the sports department.

Facilities

There is no private club membership model advertised for these courts. Access and programmes are municipal. The Patronato Municipal de Deportes runs a municipal Escuela de Pádel within the town sports schools (season roughly September to May); the 2024/25 diagnostic recorded 49 places offered and 44 filled. Adult courses and other municipal sports schools are also listed on the deportes section of gibraleon.com. For court hire, school enrolment or general queries, the sports department publishes the email deportes@gibraleon.com and directs users to the Atención al usuario office at the Pabellón Municipal. Published rental tariffs for padel were not listed on the website at the time of research.

Ok

Very welcoming, it has football pitches, futsal courts, basketball courts, paddle tennis courts, a swimming pool and a picnic area where you can sit.

A fairly complete complex with padel courts, basketball courts, and artificial turf soccer courts. I was surprised by the large number of stands, which are very small at other fields, and by the area that seems to be a picnic area where you can sit and have something from the cafeteria or something you bring.

It was a bad idea to go there. You have to fill out paperwork to get in. You have to go to the boarding house, get a card, and then you can go to the pool. The truth is, it wasn't very crowded, largely because of that. We were stuck at the entrance; they don't admit anyone without that bureaucracy. This doesn't facilitate access to a public service, which you also have to pay for. They should charge an entrance fee, even at a higher price for people like us, who are visiting on vacation and choose to go there.

👍🏻 Easy parking in the surrounding area, good seating, several options for snacks (bar, kiosk, and vending machine). 👎🏻 No trash cans in the entrance area (too much trash) and space for courts is too tight.
