Polideportivo Fernando Hierro, also listed as Polideportivo Fernando Ruiz Hierro, is a large municipal sports complex in Vélez-Málaga on the Costa del Sol. Alongside football, athletics and tennis, it is one of the main public places to play padel in Vélez-Málaga. The Ayuntamiento lists four glass padel courts for hire, used for casual play, federated club and school training, and local padel championships. The wider complex has a stated capacity of about 3,500 and supports municipal sports programmes, association events and public court rental through the Concejalía de Deportes.
Facilities
Court hire is handled as public municipal rental rather than a private membership club. Players can book padel through the Ayuntamiento de Vélez-Málaga sports booking points, including Casa del Deporte and other municipal sports desks, or ask on site for immediate use when a court is free. Monthly advance bookings open on the 29th of each month, with a limit of four hire hours per day for the same person. A ticket must be shown to the site attendant. Changes are allowed up to 24 hours ahead, and rain-related rebooking follows the municipal hire rules. Private coaching, ball carts and unofficial tournaments need prior authorisation from the Concejalía de Deportes. Booking details and regulations are published on deportes.velezmalaga.es.

Great facilities and loads for kids to do free, BMX bike track, skateboard park, climbing frames
A real hive of activity
Good sports city, very good people, great atmosphere
Padel courts are in a state of disrepair. Some are missing sections of flooring, others have holes. You can't play on any of the courts. The one that's a little better is number 14, but it's also in bad shape. The rest aren't worth mentioning. The complex itself is quite good, but the padel courts are completely neglected.
The people who work here have no respect for anyone and are rude when it comes to the job they're supposed to do, which is riding bikes around the grounds, keeping an eye on people. A tree is friendlier than these people.
