Membership & Pricing

Padel & Tennis Arena am See is Kreuzlingen's first padel club, housed behind the Bodensee Arena on Seestrasse at Lake Constance. Four indoor padel courts with World Padel Tour artificial turf sit alongside one indoor tennis court on carpet/granulate. The hall feels modern and clean, with a restaurant-bar (Tennis Lounge) run by Tennishalle am See AG and links to the NET Tennis Academy next door. Reviews praise playing conditions and lighting on most courts, though some note steep peak pricing and occasional glare on certain courts. Courts run 06:00–midnight daily.

I was only watching the 🎾game. The sports hall looks very modern and clean. The waitress is helful, but could be more welcoming.

We had booked a badminton court in advance at the paddle and tennis arena by the lake in Kreuzlingen and paid 25 Swiss francs for it. Although the website mainly mentions paddle and tennis, badminton can be explicitly selected and booked in the booking system. Only upon arrival were we informed that the badminton court was not set up and that we would have to assemble it ourselves. We were also told that neither badminton rackets nor shuttlecocks could be rented; rental equipment is only available for paddle and tennis. This information was not apparent to us beforehand. The employee at the counter informed us of this in a very curt tone, which made the situation even more unpleasant. We believe that such important limitations should be clearly and transparently communicated on the website, especially when badminton is actively bookable. On a positive note, we are grateful that a refund was offered as a gesture of goodwill.

Even though the arena looks nice and everything is in top condition (hence the two stars!), everything else is just okay! The lighting conditions on court 3 are almost disastrous, as not only are the floodlights at too steep an angle, but the sun is also blinding. If any court seemed playable at all, it was court 1. Furthermore, the fee is outrageous, even by Swiss standards. We paid 96 CHF for 90 minutes of padel court use. That's highway robbery. This was our first and last time at this facility. What a shame. With better terms, the hall would surely be packed, because after we arrived, the hall was completely empty, with only two of the four courts occupied.

Everything was great until we got to the bill after the tennis match: The cashier became very unfriendly when we said we hadn't been informed that we could buy the tennis balls we used. The employee had apparently forgotten to mention it, which can happen, but they could have apologized or offered some compensation. I work in the leisure industry myself, and prices always have to be displayed, especially when the bill is only settled at the end. Before the match, we assumed we would only pay a small rental fee for the balls, since the employee had simply handed them to us without any explanation. Otherwise, we had a lot of fun.
