Mickleover Padel Club sits at the Don Amott Arena, home of Mickleover FC, on Station Road in Mickleover on Derby's western edge. Opened in late 2025 as Mickleover's first dedicated padel community, it put four outdoor panoramic courts into a corner of the football ground. A clubhouse bar shared with the football club, plus open and sheltered chillout space, give the site a social feel beyond hire-and-go. Founders push open socials, intro sessions, and inclusive play for all levels. Reviews praise the atmosphere, beginner-friendly coaching (including instructor Paddy), and how handy the venue is for locals. Free parking sits next to the courts via the main Mickleover FC entrance.
Facilities
Pay-and-play via Playtomic; no separate membership is required for court hire on the public site. Join the Playtomic club community for matchmaking, group sessions, social events, and tournament updates. Intro sessions for beginners are well reviewed. Lovely people. Great atmosphere
Wow, great idea. Excellent really enjoyed my first few games here. Nice set up. Bar on site for the evenings and right on my door step. Great idea to do open social games and events too.
The facilities were excellent and the whole session was really well organised and welcoming for beginners. Paddy the instructor was fantastic — he explained the rules, techniques, and scoring clearly and made sure everyone understood before moving on. He created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which made it easy to learn and enjoy the game even if you’ve never played before. The session was a perfect mix of coaching, practice, and fun games, and by the end I felt much more confident playing. I’d definitely recommend the intro session to anyone thinking of trying padel for the first time. I’ll definitely be back!
100% recommend going ! We’ve never played paddle before and the worker who was working today took the time to explain and show us how to play and was great help !
