Purple Padel Club

Purple Padel Club is the Isle of Axholme’s first dedicated padel venue, tucked into a converted beetroot barn on the Moore family’s farm at Butterwick Grange near Epworth (DN9 1FP), between Doncaster and Scunthorpe. After four generations of growing beetroot, WF Moore Warplands diversified the old barn into two indoor courts — the purple name and branding nod to those farming roots rather than a corporate colour scheme. It is a small, owner-run club: reviews talk about friendly owners, a lovely atmosphere and reasonable prices, aimed at casual games, intro coaching and post-match catch-ups as much as serious match play. Being indoors, it works year-round for players from Epworth, West Butterwick, Doncaster and the wider North Lincolnshire catchment who would rather not drive into Sheffield for a hit. Bookings run through Playtomic; rackets and balls are provided, which lowers the barrier for first-timers. Beginner-friendly socials and intermediate Americanos appear on the academy calendar, and the site regularly hosts community fundraisers and local business networking sessions on court.
