About

The Grange Club is a historic multi-sport club in Stockbridge, Edinburgh, with more than 650 adult members across cricket, hockey, squash, tennis and padel. Grange Padel was formed in 2024 with two covered padel courts at Portgower Place. The club combines long-standing sections such as Grange Dyvours tennis (founded 1883) and Grange Cricket (1832) with a licensed bar and function rooms, making it a social hub as well as a place to play. Padel is open to members and, on a pay-to-play basis, to the wider community via ClubSpark.

Facilities

Two covered padel courts are available for one-hour bookings on the hour. Padel rackets are available for use by the courts. Access after booking is via a PIN. The wider club also offers squash (five courts), tennis (grass, floodlit all-weather and indoor acrylic courts), hockey and cricket, plus a fully licensed bar and function rooms. Coaching on the padel courts is provided only by the club’s authorised Grange Padel Academy.

Membership & Booking

Padel membership is currently full and offered on a one-out, one-in basis; join the waitlist via padel@grangeclub.co.uk. Courts remain bookable on a pay-to-play basis without membership through ClubSpark (free LTA account required). Non-members can book seven days ahead; members can book 14 days ahead. Members may book up to two sessions in their own name during super-peak hours (5pm–9pm) each week. Club single-sport membership rates start from published monthly/annual bands on membership.thegrangeclub.com (padel places subject to waitlist). Coaching for members and non-members is available through Grange Padel Academy (info@grangepadelacademy.com).

Positives - bar staff were attentive and friendly and helped where possible when asked. Negatives - even with a function booked members were still sitting in room whilst we tried to set up. Club secretary working was drunk whilst at work and tried to interact (inappropriately at times) with some of the guests, making several feel uncomfortable. After a few complaints from guests & including the person who’s party it was we had to ask the man to leave. Very unprofessional and certainly put abit of a dampner on the evening. Be aware if booking events here. Kindly request that the club secretary is not going to be present as he will most likely act as if he’s one of your guests like he did at ours

We had booked out a function hall for my grandmothers 90th birthday party & the club secretary was an absolute embarrassment to everyone the club should be ashamed to have someone like that working there, he was rude on arrival insisting we were too early , half an hour before people were due to arrive and that he had to think of the members, while he was drunk and trying to mingle with our party, he should be stricken off what a disgrace to paying customers!
