Tennis- en Padelclub Velina sits on the edge of Geraardsbergen in rural East Flanders, where padel has become a genuine part of club life alongside a long tennis tradition. The complex runs four padel courts in total — two outdoors for sunny afternoons and two indoors so you can play through Belgian winters without watching the weather forecast. Since September 2025 the club has been run as a family business by Melissa, Amber, Niels and Dieter, who took over from more than twenty years of community sport at Hogeweg. Their pitch is straightforward: keep the welcoming atmosphere that made Velina a local meeting point, while investing in the courts, the bar and the coaching setup. Padel newcomers and regulars book the same surfaces year-round, and the Padel Academy handles structured lessons for every age group. If you are visiting the Flemish Ardennes and want a friendly club rather than a anonymous hall, Velina is the obvious stop in Geraardsbergen.
Facilities
Membership runs through Tennis en Padel Vlaanderen and opens year-round access to Velina's indoor and outdoor padel courts. Members pay reduced court-hire rates compared with casual players and can reserve up to two weeks ahead, while non-members are limited to one week. Padel Academy enrolment is separate: winter series last eighteen weeks and summer series twelve, with group or private lessons for children, teenagers and adults at graded levels. Gregory leads the padel programme in partnership with SmashPoint, the same school that delivers tennis coaching on site. Competition players can join interclub structures via the federation dashboard, and the club publishes seasonal membership tariffs for tennis and padel on the official booking portal. Holiday stages for young players are booked through SmashPoint's website. Corporate sponsors can support the club in exchange for visibility around the grounds and courts.

Super
Insufficient availability for new players (in terms of the right group, lesson times), they are severely short on children, lesson days, etc., poor organization and communication for new players/parents. Paid for lessons but not receiving them... too bad.
Kids tennis (multimove) on Wednesday afternoon lessons were cancelled far too often, a shame because Joff was a good teacher for the kids, but had too many obligations due to his main job, which meant that replacements had to be counted on, and then they suddenly called in sick that day, my son gave up because of that. I politely let them know, they didn't even respond, a shame.
Quite a lot of outdoor courts (gravel), but the 3 indoor courts are also pleasant to play on. You can also play padel there. Nice atmosphere in the summer. They also think of the children with sports camps, bouncy castles, and such. Very satisfied with the instructors, both for my son and myself. Currently under construction, and it promises to be a huge improvement.
