The Tennis Club du Bout de l'Île (TCBI) sits at the northern tip of Île de Ré in Les Portes-en-Ré, Charente-Maritime. Known locally as T.C.B.I Tennis et Padel, the club pairs its long-standing tennis tradition with two outdoor padel courts added in recent years. The setting is deliberately low-key: pine-fringed lanes, holiday traffic in summer, and a small club-house atmosphere rather than a big urban sports centre. Padel is fully integrated into club life, with a summer tournament calendar spanning P25, P50 and P100 events for women, men and mixed draws. Court time is booked through the Balle Jaune online portal after creating a club account. Visitors and island residents alike use the padel courts for casual games, organised tournaments and evening nocturne sessions during the warmer months.
Facilities
Create a free Balle Jaune account to register with TCBI and reserve padel or tennis courts in a few clicks. The club handles tournament entries directly—call 05 46 29 60 38 or email tcbi@orange.fr for P25, P50 and P100 padel events, including nocturne fixtures in June and August. Non-members can typically book available court slots through the online system; staff can help if your email is not recognised or a booking fails. Private tennis lessons for adults and children remain a club staple, and padel sits alongside the junior tennis programme rather than replacing it. For equipment or last-minute questions, the club also lists 06 72 70 37 81 as a mobile contact.

Padel court rented for 1h30, €67 (€48 for the court + €14 for the rackets + €5 for the balls used in the previous day's tournament), good time, good activity.

The club is very pleasant and well-organized. There is a very good quality clay court. Private lessons are available for adults and children. I particularly recommend Christian as a tennis instructor; he offers a personalized method for each player. He is quite innovative and effective.
