Membership & Pricing
Shankill Tennis Club on Quinn's Road in south Dublin runs two outdoor padel courts alongside a long-established tennis programme. Built as a community club nearly four decades ago, it now combines seven outdoor tennis courts, three indoor courts, two junior and pickleball courts, and a boules piste with the newer padel offering. Padel and pickleball arrived as part of a Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown-backed expansion that also added a hitting wall and junior courts. The club leans hard into access: Enjoy Tennis for players with disabilities, wheelchair and visually impaired programmes, and a volunteer-run atmosphere aimed at locals rather than a pure commercial venue. Around 850 members keep the place busy, but courts stay open to the wider community on a pay-and-play basis.
Facilities
Full membership is the main route into Shankill Tennis Club, with packages for families and individuals, though demand means a waitlist. Email membershipsecretary@shankilltennisclub.com to join the list; the membership secretary contacts you when an application can be accepted. While waiting, pay-and-play remains open for outdoor and indoor courts subject to availability, and non-members can still join coaching, supervised junior tennis, and weekly social mixed sessions. Members book courts online with SmartClub credentials and pay floodlight fees at the office when needed. Outdoor court hire is free for members; non-member outdoor rates start around €6 per hour for adults plus lights. A separate ClubManager365 signup exists specifically for padel non-members who want to book without waiting for full club membership.
