Membership & Pricing

Shankill Tennis Club on Quinn’s Road in south Dublin is a community-run club that has grown from tennis into a multi-sport venue with padel and pickleball now part of the mix. Founded in the mid-1980s and shaped by local support, it still leans hard into accessibility rather than exclusivity: pay-and-play sits alongside membership, and disability programmes run with Tennis Ireland’s Enjoy Tennis. The site serves Shankill and the wider Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown area with a friendly clubhouse atmosphere and free parking. Visitors often mention hospitality when they come from other clubs, which fits the member-run culture. Padel is a newer addition here, so expect a tennis-club backbone with racket sports spreading across the grounds rather than a stand-alone padel destination.

Facilities

Membership categories include Family, Adult, Student, Junior, Member with a Disability and Pavilion (non-playing). The membership year runs 1 April to 31 March. Indicative renewal fees include Family around €500, Adult €275, Junior/Student €115, Disability €80 and Pavilion €40, with pro-rata rates for mid-year joiners. Playing membership has been reported as full at times, with a waiting list via the online application. Non-members can still hire courts and join coaching or social sessions. Outdoor court hire for non-member adults is typically €6 per hour plus light fees; members play outdoor courts without a court fee but pay for lights. Padel booking for visitors is supported through a dedicated non-member padel account on the club systems.
