Campo de Padel is the municipal padel court in Alter do Chão, in the Portalegre district of Alto Alentejo. It sits in the town sports zone next to the GNR post and the Pavilhão Municipal, on Avenida da Coudelaria de Alter. The Município de Alter do Chão built the facility to add padel to local sports offer when demand for the sport grew and no dedicated court existed. It is a single outdoor doubles court with blue artificial turf, glass and mesh enclosure, and floodlights for evening play. Use is free, but advance booking is required through municipal sports services.
Facilities
There is no private membership for the Campo de Padel in Alter do Chão. Play is free and open to anyone who books in advance with the municipal sports sector. Sessions are organised in 90-minute slots from morning through late evening. Limits apply: one period per day and a maximum of two periods per week per user. Booking windows and pickup points change with the season. Outside summer, reservations and the keybox access card are handled at the Pavilhão Municipal on weekdays, with weekend and holiday support via the tourist office. In summer, bookings and card collection typically move to the outdoor swimming pool ticket desk. After play, users must switch off the lights, lock the gate, return the key to the keybox, and leave the access card in the mailbox.
