Abrantes Clube de Padel (ABCP) runs four padel courts on the Tejo riverbank at Aquapolis Norte, accessed from Rua da Fábrica do Sabão in Barreiras do Tejo. The club took over the municipality's two outdoor courts in 2024 and doubled capacity in July 2025 with two covered indoor lanes built on adjacent land—a €150,000 expansion that landed two months ahead of schedule. The new tents sit low in the riverside vegetation so they read almost as part of the landscape from the far bank. President Rui Ramalhete leads a competitive project entering five teams in Liga MUDUM 2026, plus a padel school that coaches local schoolchildren through the Padel @ Desporto Escolar programme. A support building with showers, catering and a sports shop is planned for early 2026.
