Racketzone brings outdoor padel and pickleball to the Kunsteisbahn KEK on Johannisburgstrasse in Küsnacht, above Lake Zurich's right shore. Each summer from early April through late September the open ice rink becomes two padel courts and one pickleball lane—a rare lakeside option when indoor halls in the city are full. The team behind it are local racket-sports fans trying to grow padel and pickleball on the Gold Coast. Floodlights run until 21:30, bus 912 from Bellevue stops outside, and the adjacent Restaurant KEK handles proper meals. The setup is deliberately mobile: VersaCourt plastic tiles instead of turf, and back walls set 0.5 metres lower than regulation for stability.

Facilities

Book on racketzone.ch or Playtomic up to three weeks ahead; padel runs CHF 44 per hour weekdays 08:00–16:30, CHF 64 evenings and all weekend. Pickleball is CHF 30 by day and CHF 40 peak. Cancel free until two hours before start. Coaching is arranged by email or phone with external coaches. Corporate and birthday events take custom quotes at info@racketzone.ch. Training enquiries: +41 79 242 66 05. Tournaments are listed as coming soon on the website.

People coming should be aware this is not a normal padel court. The rear walls are not the right size, the surface is a type of plastic that is uneven, very bouncy, and not properly attached to the wall. If it’s your firme time playing padel, you may have fun. If you have played the sport before, you will immediately tell the difference and won’t be enjoyable.

The worst Padel courts I have ever played. These courts should not be available in Playtomic.

Unfortunately, the courts are not comparable in quality to other padel courts. The surface is a type of interlocking tile, which means the ball doesn't bounce evenly. Furthermore, the surface isn't fully bonded to the mesh/glass, causing some balls to bounce very strangely at the edges. The plexiglass is also very thin, making it quite flexible, so balls have to be returned with considerable force over the glass. Otherwise, the facility is good, but anyone who plays regularly on high-quality courts will definitely notice the difference.

Fantastic! Very fair, can be cancelled at short notice if the weather doesn't permit playing, and wonderfully pleasant in the evenings, even on hot days. Equipment can be rented on site and is partly new. We had a great time and thank you for the excellent offer.

Great outdoor facility. Booking your desired slot online is super easy. Rackets and balls are available for rent. Highly recommended.
