Tennis Club Mendrisio is an eighty-year-old Ticino institution on Via M. Ghioldi-Schweizer that reopened its indoor hall in 2025 with three rebuilt tennis courts and the first covered padel lane in the Mendrisiotto. The panoramic padel court sits under a ten-and-a-half-metre centre roof with a lounge at the entrance where friends wait with a coffee from the club osteria. Winter play stays comfortable at twelve to fifteen degrees Celsius, which matters on rainy Alpine days when outdoor tennis shuts down. Squash, summer tennis on synthetic outdoor courts, and a well-stocked bar round out a site that English-speaking visitors describe as a complete racket centre rather than a single-sport shed.

Facilities

Padel sessions cost fifty-six francs for sixty minutes daytime, sixty-four francs for ninety minutes daytime, or eighty francs for ninety minutes evening; slots are non-refundable once bought. Group padel lessons with Paolo Cernuschi run thirty-five francs per person for sixty minutes or forty-five francs for ninety minutes in groups of three. Annual membership unlocks free outdoor and covered tennis from April to mid-September plus padel racket hire and winter discounts. Swisstennis tournaments, kids' summer courses, private lessons with Manuel Mazzella, Manuela Zardo, and Amedeo Palma, and corporate packages are listed on the club site.

Fab tennis center. Courts are in some sintetic stuff. Nice to play indoor and outdoor as well. Dressing room big enough. Bar well furnished. Recommended

A truly comprehensive and modern sports center, a point of reference for Mendrisio. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the three tennis courts: you can tell they've been recently renovated because the surfaces are perfect and playing on them is a real pleasure. But the facility doesn't stop at tennis: the squash courts are also excellent for those who want a change. The real icing on the cake, however, is the latest addition: the new indoor padel court. It's incredibly convenient to be able to play padel in any weather. A well-maintained and well-managed facility, highly recommended for all racket sports enthusiasts.

A welcoming place, a well-stocked bar, and very friendly girls at the counter. The indoor courts are very worn, but the good news is they'll start resurfacing them soon. So, great!
