Membership & Pricing

Smash Padel Whitstable is a three-court padel club at Whitstable Rugby Football Club on Reeves Way in Chestfield, Kent. The panoramic courts sit under permanent canopies, so you get rain cover and floodlit evening play without the closed-in feel of a full indoor warehouse. Opened as part of the Smash Padel UK network, the site filled a gap for Canterbury and north Kent players who previously had little local padel. Centre manager Craig and a coaching team including Marianne, Terry, Alicia, Billy and Jackie run free intros, socials, juniors and matchplay. Reviews often praise the community vibe, mix-in sessions and Americanos; one beginner review also flagged a poor first-session experience, so expectations can vary by coach and group level.

Facilities

Pay-and-play court hire sits alongside optional community memberships bookable in Nettla. New players are steered through a clear pathway: a free one-hour Intro to Padel, then the six-week PADELXpress course, then socials matched by ability, then matchplay and tournaments. Private and group coaching are available (including cardio padel). Junior programmes cover ages 4–17. Peak and off-peak court pricing applies; check Nettla for current rates. Membership widgets on the Whitstable page also list plans alongside court booking and activities.

I’m new to Padel (started in January 26), but very keen to level up my game. As such, I decided to have individual as individual coaching session with Marianne at Smash Padel, and can honestly say that the 1-2-1 attention gave me confidence in areas where I ordinarily panic, and I achieved shots that would usually be beyond me. I also attend some of the sessions run by Marianne (which are also great), and have translated the skills from my coaching session there. If you’re on the fence about having individual coaching, but want to move forward at a faster pace, I’d thoroughly recommend making the investment, she’s a brilliant coach!

Playing here several times a week and absolutely love it- facilities are fantastic and the coaches are brilliant. Group mixing sessions are really good- very popular and great way to meet players, and special events like Americano add even more fun. Highly recommend!

Smash Padel Whitstable has given me and my family the warmest welcome. The staff are friendly, supportive, and genuinely passionate about helping newcomers feel confident on court. The free entry level introduction session was very helpful. What really stands out is the range of staff run activities designed for all levels. It’s a great way to meet other newbies so you never feel out of place or intimidated. The community spirit here is fantastic. A special mention goes to how inclusive the environment is. Our son has special needs, and it has been lovely to see him enjoy a sport in such a welcoming, positive setting. Watching him smile, join in, and gain in confidence has been superb. Highly recommended for families, beginners, and anyone looking for a supportive and fun place to play Padel. Smash Padel Whitstable is an absolute gem! 🎾✨

I can’t mirror the positive other reviews, as my experience as a complete beginner was honestly humiliating, and I won’t be returning. After a difficult few months personally, I wanted to try something new and booked a beginner session with Marianne. I was nervous and made that clear at the reception when I arrived, and was reassured about her as a coach which made me feel I was in good hands. Unfortunately, within the first 5–10 minutes, during the initial warm-up and in front of other players, it became clear that wasn't the case, and wouldn't be accommodated that day. Despite booking a basic beginner session, I was told almost immediately that I’d be given a refund without any real reason why, I'd only just started warming up! They tried to suggest one of their taster sessions instead. The way it was handled felt dismissive and uncomfortable - I was even asked if I'd get upset...as I was being told I’d have to leave. It all happened so quickly that I didn’t fully process it at the time, but when I got home it really hit me how unfair the whole situation was. And yes, I did get upset. Being singled out and dismissed like that, especially in front of other players not at a much higher level than myself, felt unprofessional and completely undermining - particularly for someone trying something new! I don’t usually leave reviews unless I feel I have to, and this is one of those times. It may say more about the coaching than it does about me, but based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place to beginners at all. So be wary if you have little to no experience, it's probably not for you.

One of the best places to play padel in Kent! The team at SmashPadel is incredibly friendly and welcoming, whether you're a complete beginner or looking for highly competitive matches. It’s definitely worth giving it a try. I’ve been playing padel for quite a while, but until SmashPadel opened in October last year, there was nothing around Canterbury. Since then, I’ve played countless times, met amazing people, and even shifted toward a healthier lifestyle thanks to the great community. The staff are outstanding — professional, helpful, and genuinely passionate about the sport. When I needed a new padel bat, they let me try several from their stock, which made choosing the right one much easier. They also organise regular tournaments, including Americano-style and match play events, which add to the fun and keep the experience fresh and exciting. Couldn’t recommend it more!
