The Shed Chidham turned a working grain barn on a Chichester Harbour farm into one of the most characterful padel venues on the south coast. A single fully enclosed glass court sits inside the converted shed at Durbar Cottage on Cot Lane, surrounded by sofas and viewing space so friends can watch with coffee and cake while others play. The name is deliberate — down-to-earth, rural and proud of Chidham rather than polished like a city franchise. A small café serves excellent coffee, cinnamon rolls and homemade bakes; dogs on leads are welcome. Cornhole and table tennis give non-players something to do. Reviews call it one of the most relaxed and fun courts they have played on. The club opened around early 2025 and positions itself as a community hub with more facilities planned, not just a court in a box.
Facilities
Membership on Playtomic gives fourteen-day advance booking versus seven days for the public, reduced court rates, WiFi, up to two bookings per day and four active reservations, forty-eight-hour free cancellation, and access to member-only events. Went for a great game of padel at the shed today! First time visiting, it is lovely inside with lots of seating where you can sit and watch while not playing. They also had a small cafe with some lovely cakes. I gave the cinnamon roll a try and was impressed good flavour, was a tiny bit dry but was in a display on a cafe, that is me being very picky though and still definitely giving them 5 stars. There is good amount of parking. For anyone that isn't interested in padel they also have cornhole and table tennis. Would definitely recommend a visit even if just to get a coffee and watch people play.
The Shed is a fabulous idea and a very novel way now utilising a...farm shed! A glass paddle board court had been built within. All around has been festooned with comfy sofas and some table/chairs outside - all for use when you use the superb cafe, which is for hot/colds drinks and yummy cakes. This venue is dog on a lead friendly. We choose 2 latte's and accompanied them with a choc chip cookie & a iced bun filed with a cold custard - all of which were top notch 😋 Really enjoyed this and will be back
Great chilled spot and padel court. Excellent coffee.
Great set up. Quality court. Very friendly complete with cafe.
One of the funnest courts I’ve played padel at in such a relaxed spot too, a must go padel spot
