Berko Padel is a volunteer-led outdoor padel offer at Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Hockey Club’s Lockhart Field in Cow Roast (HP23 5RF), between Tring and Berkhamsted off the A41. Two floodlit courts sit in the Chilterns AONB rather than a city leisure block, which is a big part of the draw. The operator is independent of the hockey section but shares the grounds and clubhouse access via a booking code. LTA-affiliated and aimed at all ages and abilities across Dacorum. Bookings run through Playtomic. Reviews praise reasonable prices, free rackets for newcomers, parking, showers and toilets.
Facilities
Public pay-and-play books up to 7 days ahead on Playtomic (no Playtomic Premium needed). Caps apply: no more than five peak courts per week and two courts per day. Optional Subscriber plans: £15/month for the public or £10/month for playing hockey-club members, with 14-day booking window, 30% off the subscriber’s share of court fees, subscriber-only events (e.g. Thursday Subscriber Night), and changing-room/shower access when ready. Subscriber numbers are capped with a waiting list; cancel anytime (no refunds). Hockey members still book padel the same way as everyone else.
