Padel People Shepton Mallet is Somerset's first dedicated indoor padel venue, opened in autumn 2025 in a converted unit at Evercreech just behind the Bradfords builders' merchant. Four courts sit under one roof — three full panoramic doubles courts and a separate singles court that is rare outside London and popular for faster two-player games and coaching. The site serves Shepton Mallet, Frome, Glastonbury, Wells and Yeovil, filling a gap where rainy-day padel previously meant a long drive to Exeter. Founders George and Phil run a community-first operation: self-serve booking, WhatsApp groups for finding partners, weekly classes and social space away from the courts. Facilities
Membership costs twenty-five pounds per month and includes twenty percent off every court booking plus a twenty-eight-day advance booking window instead of the standard twelve-hour release for non-members at this site. Off-peak doubles hire runs twenty-four to thirty-four pounds per hour; peak slots reach thirty-two to forty pounds. Singles off-peak starts around twelve pounds per hour on third-party listings. Weekly coaching sessions run for all abilities — book through the club channels. WhatsApp groups split by level help players find fourths and hear about local tournaments. No traditional sports-club join fee; pay-as-you-play works for visitors.

Super easy self serve, book on the app. Rent rackets for £3, really welcoming space! Good social spaces away from courts too. Classes were well attended and good fun, owner is super friendly! 😊
Delighted to see this place up and running. I dropped in Saturday for a game on the singles court and met both George and Phil. Great guys who made me feel very welcome and a lovely facility to go with it. I am looking forward to many a game at this site and seeing the community develop. Highly recommend !
Ive already been down to Padel People twice, it’s a great vibe and great facilities. Would definitely recommend. Aside from the padel, there’s plenty of space to socialise and discuss the mid-morning matters, for example, “What’s your favourite condiment”
