Padel arrived at Ferndown Forest Golf Course in 2025 when Padelstars opened two outdoor courts beside the main car park on the Dorset golf complex. The site already draws golfers to its eighteen-hole course, Toptracer driving range and Forest Inn, and padel adds a fast, social racket option for members and visitors alike. Padelstars runs the courts as a dedicated Bournemouth-area location even though the address sits in Ferndown. Play is doubles on artificial-grass outdoor lanes with LED floodlighting for evening sessions. The operator pitches the venue as part of its Happiest Sport community, with coaching, mix-ins and box leagues planned alongside straightforward court hire for casual groups.
Facilities
All padel and pickleball bookings run through the Padelstars mobile app or web portal — create an account, select the Bournemouth location, and reserve sixty- or ninety-minute slots. Membership tiers on the app unlock discounted court rates, priority booking windows and access to coaching programmes, social mix-ins, box leagues and tournaments. Introductory sessions and group lessons are offered for newcomers. Non-members can book pay-and-play slots when space is available. Court fees can be split between players added to a booking inside the app. Contact bournemouth@padelstars.co.uk for enquiries about coaching, events or corporate sessions at the Ferndown courts.

The shop here offers a weird vibe. Cold, unfriendly and manned by several clones of each other that wouldn't look out of place in Oxford/Cambridge campus who had zero personality and offer exactly the elitist, pretentious attitude you expect from Golf. As a returning golfer after a many year hiatus it's not what's needed. I went to American golf instead and was welcomed by the manager who was more than happy to help and offered his knowledge and enthusiasm for a returning player. I would also agree with another review about a bunch of beer swilling idiots who were dk measuring over who had the most expensive clubs. Awful place. Avoid. I will add the shop itself is nice and had a good selection and some pre owned stuff but the staff...................... Update : The owner didn't like the review therefore it cannot possibly be real. I quote ''We take all reviews and feedback very seriously and especially negative feedback but in this occasion we are not 100% sure about the validity of your review as it contradicts most things about the facility.'' ''Oh you haven't reviewed before so it must be fake'' IE : people tell us we're brilliant and we don't believe people who don't.. Dear MR OWNER.. Reviews are based on experiences. This was mine whether you like it or not. Talk to your shop staff or risk a repeat. I have no interest in a 'free round' I will take my money elsewhere.
The best driving range I've been to, well looked after, staff are very helpful, and balls come up automatically instead of manually putting it on, golf course I would have to say 4.8* out of 5* and food and drink including service is 5* out of 5*. If you want a nice day out with the family, "the boys" or just to have a nice night eating out and watching the footy, The Forest Inn is the best place I have been to. Also extra safe as the Police Station is quite literally next door so there are no violent activities that take place at this fine establishment. Give it a try folks!
Absolutely stellar experience at this driving range! I've been a frequent visitor lately, and each time leaves me more impressed than the last. The Toptracer technology is great, enhancing the fun and improving my game with precise feedback. What's even better is the flexibility in payment—you pay per basket of balls, so there's no rush to finish. Also, during the week from 8am - 4pm there's no need to book, you only need turn up. Whether it's a post-lunch session or a pre-breakfast swing, this place accommodates perfectly. It has quickly become a top destination for me, and I'll definitely make it a point to swing by whenever I'm in the area. Highly recommend to all golf enthusiasts! Review for yet another breakfast here... I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a Full English Breakfast at The Forest Inn and wow—it was fantastic! As someone who loves a good fry-up, this one truly delivered and set me up perfectly for a great session on the driving range afterward. I went for the Full Dorset Breakfast, priced at £12, and it was worth every penny. It came with two New Forest bacon rashers, two butcher’s pork sausages, eggs cooked to perfection, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns, Heinz baked beans, and delicious Bakehouse24 sourdough toast. Every element of the dish was cooked beautifully and tasted fresh, from the savoury sausages to the perfectly crisp bacon. To top it all off, I had a lovely latte alongside the breakfast. It was smooth, rich, and complemented the meal perfectly—just what I needed to kickstart the day. The portion size was generous, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. It was the perfect start to the day, filling me up with just the right amount of energy for my golf practice. I highly recommend The Forest Inn if you’re in the area, whether you’re a golfer or not. Their Full Dorset Breakfast is a must-try for anyone who appreciates a hearty and well-executed fry-up.
Really great place to visit for a drink and breakfast or lunch, close access to Castleman Trailway, and dog (clean) friendly with plenty of outside seating. Parking but can get busy at peak times. I always enjoy the Half Dorset breakfast, good quality, and value. Staff are always pleasant. Reservations advised for larger groups and at weekends / School Holidays . I'm looking forward to the NEW Padel and Pickel courts, being built now.
Turned up to use the range and asked if it was busy.told no but you will have a short wait to get a second lane nearby. So paid £24 for 200 golf balls. We went onto the range to find it packed with a queue. In 15 minutes nobody moved and there was no organisation. The range was full of youngsters drinking beers, we walked out and went to parley which is organised and friendly. Forget Ferndown forest its useless
