East Dorset Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club is a large members' club in Ashley Cross, Poole, voted LTA Dorset Club of the Year 2025. Beyond its heritage tennis and croquet lawns, the club launched East Dorset Padel in summer 2024 with three new outdoor panoramic courts marketed as Dorset's largest pay-and-play padel offer. The site sits on Salterns Road with around eight hundred tennis, croquet, and bridge members, a cafe and bar, and coaching at every level. Padel operates as a separate Playtomic brand open to non-members, while the wider club continues championship tennis on sixteen courts across grass, artificial clay, and astro surfaces. Reviews praise the outdoor padel surface condition, covered waiting area, and coffee horsebox, with padel now a major draw alongside the traditional croquet lawns.
Facilities
Pay-and-play padel is open to everyone at twenty-two pounds per hour off-peak and twenty-six pounds at peak (weekdays 17:00–21:00, Saturday 12:00–17:00, Sunday 18:00–21:00). Standard Playtomic bookings open five days ahead; East Dorset adult tennis members book fifteen days ahead with up to fifteen live reservations. The Padel Booking Player subscription—around fifty to sixty pounds per year on Playtomic—gives fourteen-day priority booking, multiple held reservations, and ten percent off cafe and bar food. Coaching drills, levelling-up sessions, and mix-ins are listed under East Dorset Padel on Playtomic. Full club membership is separate via the Membership page on Clubspark.

Nice Padel facility. Bar is good for some post Padel beers, nice barman. The croquet players aren’t the most friendly (it’s Padel bringing in the money at this club I’m sure), the toilets are a long walk from the Padel courts without walking down the footpath alongside the sacred croquet lawns 😂
I love this place for playing Padel outside. Always in great condition and welcoming to all. They have recently added a place to sit under cover while you wait for your court and have refreshments from the coffee stand/converted horse box. Playing outside is less noisy than inside I feel.
Really nice courts, nice atmosphere, had a great lesson with one of the coaches Taylor (TJ) would recommend
Great centre. Played padel there. Brilliant courts at a good price
I just love the friendly atmosphere here. The Croquet is a great find.
