Ace Padel Club is Shropshire's first dedicated padel venue, set in the grounds of the Lion Quays Hotel and Spa near Oswestry (Weston Rhyn / Gobowen, SY11 3EN). The club opened in early 2025 and sits on former tennis courts that were converted into purpose-built padel courts supplied from Spain. It is aimed at the local community as much as hotel guests: beginners, social players and people who want regular competitive sessions. Coaching and organised socials sit alongside open court hire, so you can turn up for a one-off game or plug into a weekly routine. Being on a hotel and spa estate means players also have access to on-site food, drink and spa facilities around the courts. The club is still outdoor for now, with plans reported for a canopy roof so play is less weather-dependent year round.
Facilities
Court hire is available anytime through Playtomic for pay-and-play bookings. Membership is £25 per month and is pitched as better value for regulars: free off-peak padel, 25% off peak bookings, court booking up to 14 days in advance, and 10% off Cafe Ash, Waterside Restaurant and the spa. Community sessions listed on the club site include Ladies Social, Kids Padel, Rise and Shine Social, and Kings of the Court. Expert coaching is advertised for players who want structured improvement rather than just casual hit-arounds. Social and membership updates are shared through the club's keep-up-to-date channels linked from the website.
