Winchester Racquets and Fitness is a member-owned multi-sport club founded in 1906, now one of Hampshire's strongest padel destinations with three floodlit outdoor courts alongside fifteen tennis courts, six squash courts, a gym, studio, croquet lawns and bridge section. Padel arrived as the club's fastest-growing racquet sport, with Friday club nights, mix-ins, cardio sessions and competitive men's, ladies and veterans teams. The café bar terrace overlooks the courts, giving padel the same social hub feel as tennis and squash. Pay-and-play guests can book padel without joining, while members get earlier reservation windows and reduced session rates woven into flexible membership tiers.
Facilities
Gold membership (£85.95/month adult) includes padel at member rates plus tennis, squash, gym, studio, bridge and croquet with 7-day booking priority. Dedicated primary Padel membership currently on a waiting list. Padel supplementary add-on from £1.80/month plus court fees on other tiers. Members enjoy reduced Pay & Play rates; non-members can book structured sessions (mix-ins, cardio, coaching groups). Young adult, student, junior and family discounts available. Great friendly coaches who are very knowledgeable. All of the staff are welcoming and take the time to answer questions or just say hello. My son has been having lessons at the club for years and the coaches have worked hard to help him develop as a player.
Only had 2 padel racquets to hire the whole evening despite hiring 4 on the booking with no prior amendment or notification.
I visited from out of town. Used the gym, had lunch then on court in the afternoon. Great facilities, great club, great people. A must join if you’re in the area.
Hired 4 padel racquets and brought 7 people to rotate doubles, they only had 2 to hire in the whole place despite promising this.
