Membership & Pricing

Club des Amis de Préfailles is a volunteer-run FFT-affiliated tennis club at 8 rue Sainte Anne in the coastal village of Préfailles, Loire-Atlantique — a fixture since 1957 with a busy social calendar of tournaments, bridge, whist and summer dinners. Two outdoor padel courts (Piste A and Piste B) opened on 5 July 2025 alongside the existing five tennis courts, giving members a racket-sport hub a short walk from the beach. The atmosphere is deliberately local and convivial: bookings go through the club house in summer or by SMS the rest of the year, and revenue from memberships and court fees funds upkeep of the club house and all seven playing surfaces.

Facilities

Padel booking is for members in good standing only. At least two members must be on court for every reservation; each member may bring one guest (maximum four guest invitations per member per year). Court fees per hour: 8€ per adult member, free for up to two members under 16 per court, 12€ per guest. FFT licence required for year-round tennis and padel play — obtainable through the club if not held elsewhere. Club membership and tennis subscription renew 1 June to 31 May; see tarifs 2025/2026 on the website. Summer reservations (1 July–31 August) via club-house staff or 02 40 21 63 62; off-season by SMS/WhatsApp to 07 83 73 02 44 with all four player names.

Nice club, well located with courts and nets in good condition (I didn't play on clay, only hard courts). But, a small unpleasant anecdote. I was trying to reserve a court for 9:00 AM, and a young woman offered me 8:00 AM or 11:00 AM. I chose 8:00 AM, and so the next day at 7:50 AM I was at the club's entrance. No one was there, the door was closed. I waited 10 minutes and finally called a mobile number posted on the notice board outside to explain that I couldn't get into the club. The person I was (apparently) waking up kindly gave me the code to open the gate. At 8:30 AM, someone arrived and told me, "That's my court, I've reserved it..." I changed courts and finished my game. The next players told me that the attendant had asked me to come immediately to pay for the court. Nice, huh! Well, I think I was unlucky and the club seems cool, but still, this lack of professionalism is a bit annoying.

People with little regard for their neighbors. If they set up an outdoor padel court, we'll shut it down.
