Tennisverein Kaiserslautern 81 e.V. (TVK 81) is a long-established racket-sports club at the city entrance of Kaiserslautern, beside the university and at the edge of the Pfälzer Wald forest. Founded in 1981, the roughly 200-member club is widely regarded as one of the most attractive tennis sites in the region, with seven clay courts, one all-weather tennis lane, a children's playground, a pétanque court and a comfortable clubhouse. In 2025 the club added Kaiserslautern's first local padel offering: two outdoor panoramic courts on a green strip next to the main drive, operated independently as Padel Kaiserslautern so players need no tennis membership. The wider campus still revolves around league tennis, youth training, after-work sessions and regular club tournaments.
Facilities
Padel runs separately from tennis membership through Padel Kaiserslautern — anyone can book without joining TVK 81. Court rates are €20/h (08:00–12:00) and €25/h (12:00–21:30) for visitors; TVK 81 members receive 20% off via Playtomic. Sessions of 90 minutes or longer are supported with proportional pricing. Tennis membership is available with trial sessions and introductory trial-year offers advertised on the club site; members can also access league play and club events. One of the most beautiful facilities in the area. Located on the outskirts of town, right next to the university. Beautifully situated on the edge of the forest with excellent parking. There are 7 clay courts, 1 all-weather court, a children's playground, a pétanque court, and a very comfortable clubhouse. Those interested can participate in a free trial session. You'll always find someone to play with. A trial year is also currently available at a special introductory price :-) Well worth it!

The most beautiful tennis facility in Kaiserslautern! Seven impeccably maintained clay courts and one all-weather court. Tournaments and events are held regularly, which I really appreciate. It's not only fun to play here, but also to spend some time relaxing on the lounge chairs! ;-)
