Membership & Pricing

Kilkenny County & City Lawn Tennis Club, at Archersfield on the Bennettsbridge Road, was the first venue in the county to add padel. Founded in 1879 and now one of Ireland’s larger regional racket clubs, it put a single outdoor court on the grounds for members who wanted something beyond tennis. Demand is steady, so book early if you can get on. The setting is a proper club base rather than a walk-up commercial padel centre, with tennis, social space and tournaments already part of the routine.

Facilities

Padel is tied to club membership rather than casual pay-and-play. New members are welcomed in principle, but places can be scarce and waiting lists have been reported as long, so contact the club before you assume you can book a one-off session. Membership cycles typically start around April. Email info@kilkennytennisclub.com or call the club for current availability, fees and how visitors or guests are handled.

Old fashioned elitism. Went there 3 times to have information about the padel court (that was always empty, even on a saturday afternoon) and the answer that we got was that we need membership, even just to play padel, and the waiting list for the membership would take us 2 years. Hopefully they change their minds.
