Rackets Pro Academy Saldanha occupies the rooftop of Mercado 31 de Janeiro in central Lisbon—a padel and fitness club with five indoor courts and views over the Saldanha neighbourhood. The Rackets Pro group (30 years in racquet-club management, born from the original Nacional Padel project) runs this as one of its Lisbon flagships alongside EUL, Nova, Nacional and Quinta da Marinha. Five indoor lanes sit next to The Code gym, a remodelled SportsBar with terrace, luxury changing rooms, a physiotherapy clinic and a sports shop. Padel academy coaches include Virgílio Duarte, Filipe Pereira, Martim Coutinho, Francisco Lima and coordinator António Pragana. The vibe skews premium: slightly above-average hire rates, strong social tournaments, and facilities that mostly match the price—though recent players have flagged strobing LED issues on Court 1 and ageing men's locker areas.

Lookers in the men's changing room need some maintenance. The courts and the rest of the place is very good. A tiny bit over the average price but you can feel "a bit more premium".
Best social tournaments. Bad light on some courts. For this price, I expect everything perfect.
While I love the club, unfortunately they do not maintain courts very well. Court 1 is literally unplayable for the last month. They changed the lights and now the light is strobing with low frequency making it hard to track the ball. Feels like playing competitive games in 30fps or trying to catch a ball on a disco floor with strobing light. It’s also warmer in temperature than other courts for some reason, but thats not much of an issue compared to the frequency. I am not sure if the light were installed incorrectly or they used some cheaper ones, or forgot to connect them in alternating phases, but the fact is that only courts 2-5 are fine for playing, court 1 provides miserable experience. Hope the management will acknowledge that and fix the issue, since the price for all courts is the same.
The lights on the first court are very poor. It looks like they are strobing, which makes playing padel really difficult. Otherwise the club is super good.
First time there. Excellent courts, good equipment, there is a cafe. The men's changing room smells disgustingly of urine 🤮
