Membership & Pricing
Leisure World Tennis Centre on Eudo Road, Colchester (CO2 7XE) is the public tennis hub with six floodlit tarmac courts, renovated under the Parks Tennis / LTA project and bookable via Leisure World’s system. On the same Shrub End campus, Padel United UK operates three outdoor panoramic padel courts installed with council support — Colchester’s main permanent padel offer. Tennis and padel are separate operators: Leisure World for tennis membership/hire; Padel United for padel pay-and-play, membership and coaching. Free Leisure World car parking for customers. Phone for the tennis centre is 01206 282000; padel enquiries go to Padel United’s Colchester manager Kai on 07960 716465.
Facilities
Leisure World offers no-contract leisure memberships covering broader centre access; tennis courts can also be hired by the hour through their booking site. Padel United Colchester runs membership and pay-and-play with published hourly rates roughly: members peak £24 / off-peak £18 / weekends £20; non-members peak £32 / off-peak £24 / weekends £30 (confirm live prices). Expert coaching is available through Padel United. Use the Padel United Colchester page or app flow for padel slots — not the Leisure World tennis booker.

Nice new tennis courts, easy booking system
Really, really lovely courts but the new booking system is complicated for the first time of booking via LTA. Not very intuitive. Had to call up in the end and was met with a very abrupt response from a duty manager suggesting no one else had had this problem and it was my fault. The reviews on other forums suggest something very different though. Once you're set up though, it's worth it.
Despite photos from random passersby, this does NOT have grass courts (those are defunct and used to belong to Colchester Council but now owned by Go Padel). Restricted times. Floodlit until 9pm instead of 10pm (as it used to be). Only open til 6pm Sunday and not before 10am every day. Very expensive to book individually. Courts need resurfacing (not been done in 30+ years, at least) and sight/wind breaks not installed where they should be, if at all.
Good tennis courts but could be eaiser to book. In order to make a booking, I had to make an account for leasure world first wich took quite a while. Good facalaties, kept nice an neat and tidy, although there is nothing to stop people staying longer than they should or turning up early.
Lovely courts, toilets, showers, cafe, parking. All good!
