Membership & Pricing

BigBox Padel Club is a large indoor padel venue on Wakefield Road in Tandem, Huddersfield (HD5 0AL), next door to BigBox Leisure Club. It markets itself as Huddersfield’s main dedicated padel destination, with nine premium courts including panoramic show courts, and draws players from Leeds, Halifax, Wakefield and the wider Yorkshire area. The club sits on Tandem Industrial Estate with free on-site parking and long opening hours — early mornings through to midnight most days — so it suits both before-work hitters and late social fours. Booking and membership run through the Padel Shed / BigBox Padel Club app rather than walk-up pay-and-play. Alongside regular court hire there are social sessions, public matches for people who need a fourth, coaching, corporate event packages, and occasional charity or community events. Reviews tend to praise the facilities, cleanliness and bar areas, though pricing and membership value get mixed feedback from some regulars.

Facilities

BigBox is members-only: everyone who plays must hold either a Premium or Casual membership, registered via the Padel Shed app (or in person with staff help). Premium membership includes advance booking privileges, exclusive offers and priority access; Casual is the lighter option for less frequent play. Member bundles and add-ons are sold through the app for court time and extras. Exact monthly fees are shown in-app rather than as a fixed public price list on the website. Some Google reviewers have criticised rising hire prices (premium racket hire cited rising from £6 to £10) and questioned whether member discounts on courts and drinks feel worthwhile, including comments on a Plus membership tier — worth checking current app pricing before committing.

Great facility but honestly, the prices charged are astronomical and seem to be constantly increasing. Renting a premium racket went up from £6 to £10. That’s a 60% increase. I’m not sure in what other business you could implement such an increase in one fell swoop. No discounts for paying members on racket rental either. Truly the member ‘benefits’ aren’t worth the money but they have you over a barrel. The discounts offered on courts and drinks are miniscule. Nobody ever asks ‘are you a member’ - so presumably everyone just gets the discount. The introduction of the ‘Plus’ membership just feels like pure greed.
