Courts Padel × The Retreat is a floodlit outdoor padel court on the grounds of The Retreat at Elcot Park, an 18th-century country-house hotel between Newbury and Hungerford just off the A4 (RG20 8NJ). The partnership is with Courts Padel, founded by coaches Will and Harry, who run open play alongside coaching and social sessions through the week. The court is a super-panoramic outdoor build with run-out space, and regulars say it still plays well when the weather is typically British. You do not need to be a hotel guest or spa member to book — pay-and-play is open via Playtomic — though staying on for drinks or dinner at the hotel is very much part of the pitch. Open daily 7am–9pm with floodlights for evening games.
Facilities
Non-members: £40 per hour, book up to 10 days ahead. Signet Spa members: £28 per hour (around 30% off) and book up to 30 days ahead, plus full spa and gym access. Everyone books through the Playtomic app (search The Retreat Elcot Park / Courts Padel). Coaching, courses, and social padel sessions are also listed on Playtomic — useful for beginners who want structured play rather than finding their own four. A padel package voucher (usually promoted around £180 value with a discount) is sold via The Retreat for coaching-focused gifts. Spa membership details are available from the Signet Spa team at the hotel.

One of the best padel courts around. The court itself plays really well and still performs even when the weather isn’t great, which makes a big difference for outdoor padel in the UK ‼️ Set in a beautiful location at Elcot Park, Courts Padel & The Retreat have created a brilliant place to play. The facilities are great and it’s a fantastic spot whether you’re new to padel or play regularly. Will and Harry, the founders and coaches, are excellent – super knowledgeable, welcoming and clearly passionate about growing padel. If you’re looking for quality padel courts and coaching, this is a great place to come and play. Also there socials are top tier 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Fantastic facility, complimenting the beautiful retreat and hotel. You don't need to be a resident/member, some fantastic courses and sessions can be booked on the playtomic app.
I'm loving playing Padel here! From the very first session I attended Harry and Will have been super professional, helpful and encouraging. They've clearly poured their hearts and souls into creating a fun, friendly and relaxed environment. The coaching classes and the social tournaments are so helpful, lots of fun, and a good opportunity to mingle with other Padel enthusiasts! The outdoor court is great, even in the British weather.. you soon warm up! Thank you to the brothers for bringing the fastest growing sport to our doorstop! 😊🫶🥎
