Heron Tennis Centre sits in Trenance Leisure Park on Newquay's north Cornwall coast, a few minutes from the beaches and one of the main racket hubs in the town. The club runs a broad programme across tennis, padel, and pickleball with nine tennis courts (five hard, two artificial clay, two indoor), two mini tennis courts, one pickleball court, and two outdoor padel courts operated in partnership with Game4Padel. Padel is pitched as the fast-growing social sport combining tennis and squash, with intro sessions, beginner and intermediate coaching, Americano tournaments, and private lessons. The homepage notes the padel courts are scheduled to be covered in 2026. Members and casual visitors use the on-site Set Cafe Lounge, and coaching includes former ATP player Artem Sitak.
Facilities
Court hire is open to everyone via MATCHi—no Heron membership is strictly required for padel. Game4Padel membership costs about six pounds fifty per month individually or thirteen pounds for a family, unlocking earlier booking windows and lower per-player court rates on MATCHi (typical all-in court prices run roughly twenty to twenty-eight pounds per hour depending on slot). Heron Tennis also sells its own membership tiers with broader tennis benefits including discounted court hire and coaching. Loved playing on the mini courts. We were walking past and asked about it and the staff were really friendly. They supplied equipment and we had a great half hour. So much that we came back the next day for an hour. £6 for 30 minutes £12 for an hour. Brilliant introduction to tennis for kids
Great place to play tennis, padel tennis or pickleball. Josh is a great coach and Jon and Steve run the place well. It's got a great cafe and also indoor courts. Membership is available and non members can also book
