Smash Padel Cardiff opened in August 2025 as the network's first site on the Nettla booking platform, set among the trees at Llandaff Fields in Pontcanna. Six panoramic courts sit under canopies — covered against rain but open-sided — with generous space between playing areas. The club leans hard into community: free intro sessions, junior pathways, social play, and coaches who get stuck in with younger players according to parent reviews. It is a more affordable Cardiff option than the newer premium indoor clubs, with a relaxed parkland setting rather than a warehouse vibe. The walk in from surrounding streets crosses Llandaff Fields; several members note that path feels poorly lit after dark, which is worth factoring in for winter evening bookings.
Facilities
Everything books through the Nettla app or website: court slots, free intro sessions, PADELXpress courses, public matches, private coaching, and membership options. Typical court hire runs roughly £30–£44 per hour depending on time slot. There is no traditional members-only club model advertised on the Cardiff page — instead Nettla lists memberships alongside pay-and-play. Free Intro to Padel sessions give newcomers a no-cost first taste. Group and individual coaching, match-play events, and a bespoke junior programme sit alongside social activities for mixed abilities. What an awesome day. Thanks so much everyone. The staff were fantastic, friendly and knowledgable. My kids loved their first experience at smash padel Cardiff. My son aged 6 had a fun energetic taster class and loved it asking to come back. Great that you can hire paddle bats if coming for a session on the courts and don’t have your own yet as well as many that you can buy. I’ll make the most of that next time he has his class. So much fun! I went with my friends and genuinely had a brilliant time, I was awful at the game but it was so fun. The facilities were good, you can rent rackets (although I feel like it shouldn’t be extra money to rent the racket) and it’s super clean. There’s also a coffee shop.
The courts are great, as are the staff, Nettla app and facilities. However, my friends and I have noticed that there is no lighting in the park and the walk through Landaff fields to get to the courts is very dark. This puts us off going during the evenings at the moment due to it feeling genuinely scary.
Excellent facilities and atmosphere. Great coaches and staff, friendly and welcoming. My son played there last week and the coaches joined in. He loved the experience and can’t wait to get back on court again 🙂
Super club, 6 panoramic canopy courts. Plenty of space around the courts. Friendly, qualified coaches to help all standards. Love it!
