About
Cross Padel is a dedicated indoor padel club in Clay Cross, North East Derbyshire, opened by local couple Oliver and Jen Davies. The club presents itself as community-first and inclusive, with a Mexican 1968-Olympic inspired design, bright high ceilings and space to stay and socialise after matches. Derbyshire Times coverage describes it as the area’s first dedicated indoor padel venue, with social programmes for beginners and longer-term league ambitions.
Facilities
Playtomic lists five indoor double panoramic courts (Padel 1–5). Press coverage says the courts are MejorSet (Major Set), official providers for the World Padel Tour, laid on Mondo turf with technical run-off. Amenities on Playtomic include disabled access, equipment rental, free parking, cafeteria, changing rooms, lockers and Wi‑Fi. A pilates studio and licensed café are also described in local reporting.
Membership & Booking
Booking is via Playtomic. Public classes such as Hello Padel and social formats including Mexicano and overs sessions appear in reviews and the Playtomic schedule. Coaching is available with named coaches on the booking platform. Contact email published on the club site is info@crosspadel.co.uk. Exact membership tariffs are not fully listed on the sparse home page.

Good to Know
Official site crosspadel.co.uk lists Unit 1, Oak Leaf Close, Clay Cross, S45 9UZ. Google Maps uses the same postcode on the Clay Cross industrial estate. Owner comments in the Derbyshire Times stress accessible pricing as a deliberate barrier-lowering choice; confirm current court rates on Playtomic rather than relying on press quotes alone.

Loved the overs session, definitely helped with my next game. Sam welcoming and helpful as always
I had a great experience joining in with the ‘overs’ session. Easy going and friendly welcome. I’ll be joining in again that’s for sure.
I’m a local physiotherapist and have played a few racket sports over the years, so I was really excited when Cross Padel opened nearby. Shane, one of the managers, couldn’t have been more welcoming and was genuinely keen to help me get started and see if padel was for me. I’ve also met Oliver, the owner, and you can tell how passionate he is about what they’ve created. I joined Phil’s Saturday social having barely played before and had a brilliant time. The Mexicano format was relaxed but competitive, I got loads of games in and met loads of new people. With two young kids, I can’t tell you how good it feels to get out, have a game, switch off for a bit and get the social side of it too. I can completely see why people get hooked on padel so quickly. Great club, really friendly atmosphere and I’d definitely recommend giving it a go.
Great venue, staff are welcoming and very friendly, slowing building up the social clubs
