Formby Village Padel Club is Sefton's first community padel venue, sitting within Formby Village Sports Club on Rosemary Lane behind the church hall in the heart of Formby. The club opened its first outdoor padel court on 19 July 2024 after Sefton planning approval, and demand quickly outstripped supply — sports club membership jumped and a long padel waiting list followed. Full padel memberships are sold out; newcomers join a first-come waiting list until capacity is reviewed. The site shares a century-old multi-sport club with tennis, bowls, and other sections. Reviews call the court and people great. Planning permission has since been granted for two further floodlit courts to ease the backlog.
Facilities
Membership-based club; full memberships are currently sold out with a waiting list at formbyvillagepadel.com/waiting-list (first-come, first-served; individual waiting-list emails are not answered). Once a member, pick a category on MATCHi and book courts in the MATCHi app. Court prices £24 peak / £16 off-peak. Contact form on the site is for Formby Village Sports Club general queries, not waiting-list chasing. Membership may allow joining other sports club sections depending on category.
