Ecclesall Lawn Tennis Club in Sheffield runs as Ecclesall Tennis & Padel Club and was among the first venues in the city to add padel. The club sits off the Ecclesall Road side of Sheffield and mixes a long-standing tennis scene with a single outdoor doubles padel court that quickly became popular with local players. The padel court itself is a full doubles setup outdoors, the same installation covered by Sheffield City Council planning application 25/03283/FUL for one padel court with a boundary acoustic fence. Alongside padel, the club has three rejuvenated all-weather astro tennis courts and upgraded LED floodlights on courts 1 and 2, so evening sessions are easier when light fades. A clubhouse with a kitchen gives players somewhere to sit between games. Important for anyone booking right now: at Sheffield City Council’s request the padel court has been closed since Monday 20 July while a retrospective planning decision is pending. The club has asked supporters to use the public planning portal if they want to comment. Tennis and the rest of club life continue; padel play depends on that decision coming through.
Facilities
Membership is sold as annual packages for the 2026/27 season (1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027), with categories for juniors, full-time students, day members, full adults, over-60s and families. Published one-off fees include junior rates from about £25–£50 depending on age and whether a parent is already a member, student membership at £55, day membership at £65 (play to 5pm weekdays and after 5pm at weekends), full adult membership at £110, over-60 membership at £65, and family membership at £185 for two adults plus two under-18s, with £15 per extra child. A six-week family trial costs £60 for one household, with the option to convert to full family membership for a further £125, limited to one trial per year. Tennis members play tennis without court fees, and members get reduced padel court hire compared with non-members. Join and renew online via Clubspark membership packages, or use the downloadable membership and trial forms on the club site. Bookings for courts and coaching need a Clubspark / LTA Advantage account.

Great little hidden gem on Ecclesall Road. Perfect Padel court for when the sun is out. Rich the onsite coach can't do enough to accommodate and help people who've never played before. Strongly recommend 👍🏼
