About

Hallamshire Tennis and Squash Club is a historic Sheffield members club on Ecclesall Road by Endcliffe Park, dating from 1885. Beyond tennis and squash it now offers racketball, padel, pickleball, table tennis and fitness under one roof. The club positions padel and pickleball as fun, social, easy-to-learn additions with brand-new all-weather courts that members can add to their membership. Coaching, camps, competitions and cafe-bar social life sit at the centre of the club offer.

Facilities

Official pages describe padel and pickleball on all-weather courts at the Hallamshire. Member and directory sources indicate one outdoor floodlit padel court, with planning consent to place a longer-term padel court on a former tennis court beside Endcliffe Park. Wider facilities include 11 tennis courts, nine squash courts, a gym, cafe bar lounge with outdoor-court views, changing rooms and free parking listed on directories. Padel bats and lights are included with court bookings according to the members information page.

Membership & Booking

Padel is primarily a membership add-on. Members with padel membership can book the padel court up to two weeks ahead online or via reception kiosks. Squash, tennis, racketball and gym members can upgrade to include padel. Published court fees are 20 GBP off-peak and 24 GBP peak per hour for all membership categories, with peak windows Monday to Friday 4pm to 9pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. WhatsApp communities, box leagues and club championships help members find partners. Contact email info@hallamshire.net.

I've been going to the beginners coached sessions here for the last few months on Sundays 12-2pm. It has been absolutely brilliant, the staff on reception are always really friendly and helpful, the coaches are great and I feel like I've genuinely got a lot better through going to these. It's been a great way to meet people too! Thanks

Hallamshire tennis club Tennis Facilities: Poor court maintenance, inadequate fencing, and the loss of a tennis court to padel. Maintenance Issues: Unreliable sauna with inconsistent access. Gym Atmosphere: Repetitive, low-quality music. Lack of Diversity: Marketing materials and flyers fail to represent different genders and ethnicities. Poor Value: Rising membership fees paired with declining management and service quality.

Fob doesn't work often. With sauna you never know if you will get a surprise if it works or not. Staffs are unhelpful and many communications issues. I'm tired of it.
