Padelstars Reading sits inside Berkshire County Sports Club on Sonning Lane in Sonning, a few miles east of Reading. It is one stop in the wider Padelstars network across the South of England, and for now the Reading site is a compact outdoor setup rather than a multi-court hub. One uncovered floodlit court is open for play, with the clubhouse, parking and multi-sport backdrop of County Sports Club around it. Reviews highlight helpful onboarding and strong coaching, including intro assessments to set a level and lessons with coaches such as Carlos. Bookings run through the Padelstars app, so this is very much an app-first venue. Bring your own racket and balls: the club states equipment is not provided here. Plans discussed elsewhere for additional covered courts would expand the site later, but today it is a single outdoor court with a social programme layered on top.
Facilities
Court hire is pay-as-you-go via the Padelstars app. Peak pricing after 4pm weekdays and all weekend is around £10 per person or £40 per court; off-peak before 4pm weekdays is around £8.50 per person or £34 per court. Create an account in the app, pick the Reading location, then book available slots. Network membership and shared access across other Padelstars sites may unlock further discounts for regulars; check the app for current membership products. Just started playing Padel at Sonning and thoroughly enjoying it. First meeting was with Scott, who was very helpful and set up the intro assessment to obtain a level. Quickly discovered I need lessons to understand the game strategy and stroke play. Now had two lessons with Carlos who is very friendly and gets the message across with a smile. Previously had Squash and Tennis lessons and appreciate Carlos is one of the best instructors I’ve had.
